Your face shape is defined by the ratio between your face length and width, and by the relative widths of your forehead, cheekbones and jawline. Aesthetica's AI detects these points automatically from your selfie and classifies your face shape — including mixed shapes like oval/square.
The 6 main face shapes
Aesthetica detects all common face shapes:
- Oval — slightly longer than wide, with a gently rounded jaw. The most balanced shape.
- Round — similar length and width, with full cheeks and a soft jawline.
- Square — strong, angular jaw with forehead, cheekbones and jaw of similar width.
- Heart — wider forehead and cheekbones tapering to a narrow chin.
- Diamond — widest at the cheekbones with a narrower forehead and jaw.
- Oblong — noticeably longer than wide, with a straight cheek line.
